CARB Voucher Program Expands
Azure Transit Connect is now eligible for HVIP funding!
The California

Air Resources Board (CARB) recently added the Azure Transit Connect Van and Wagon to the list of eligible vehicles for the
California Hybrid Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP). Also, CARB has added a $10,000 increase in voucher funding per school bus for public school districts.
HVIP is a streamlined program to help speed the early market introduction of clean, low-carbon hybrid and electric trucks in California. Funded by the CARB, HVIP accomplishes this by addressing the biggest barrier for fleet purchase of medium- and heavy-duty hybrids: the high incremental cost of these vehicles in the early market years when production volumes are still low. Since its inception in 2010, more than 1,000 advanced trucks and buses have been ordered using the voucher system. HVIP has received voucher requests for $10.5 million in hybrid and electric truck funding this fiscal year. Approximately $11.3 million in funding is still available.
