As we all moved through the dog days of summer, there was nothing but a lot of activity in CALSTART circles. From webinars and a host of new partnerships to launching the new CalHEAT initiative, CALSTART has been making news.
Robert Meyer of the California Employment Training Panel joined us in early August to present a webinar on clean transportation employment training funds that are available for California companies. His presentation is available online for Members by clicking here. As part of the webinar, Mr. Meyer noted that CALSTART member Electric Vehicles International has received significant training funding from the program.
Member Propel Fuels, a company that builds, owns and operates a network of clean fuel sites, will be adding 75 more ethanol stations throughout California over the next two years. Thanks to funds from the Department of Energy Clean Cities program and the California Energy Commission, Domestic Fuel reports that there will be more fueling options for the one million diesel and Flex Fuel passenger cars in the state that can run on renewable fuels. CALSTART is partnering with Propel on the project.
Minnesota based FleetAnswers provides entire fleet organizations the ability to acquire information in a collaborative setting, and CALSTART has joined forces with them to bring the most up-to-date information regarding clean transportation fleet data to the companies that need it. The partnership will give access to expert Bill Van Amburg, Senior VP of CALSTART as a FleetAnswers clean tech resource. Learn more about them on our website.
And, what do the Missouri Department of Transportation (MDOT) and CALSTART have in common? HTUF is what, according to the Rolla Daily News. In 2006 CALSTART initiated a national pilot program to speed the commercialization of small hybrid transit buses. Late last month the program bore fruit as MDOT helped two rural public transportation agencies take ownership of new, clean hybrid buses. Speaking of which, it’s almost show time and HTUF welcomes a new show publication, called what else but Show Times? Learn more here.
