CALSTART and the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) held the world's premier green medium and heavy-duty truck and bus event in Indianapolis, Indiana this March. Combining CALSTART’s extensive experience in clean technologies and fuels with NTEA’s Work Truck Show, the largest trade show of commercial vehicles in North America, the Green Truck Summit offered an expanded showcase of equipment, new fuels and technologies, informative clean technologies and fuels agenda and breakout sessions.

The CALSTART-NTEA Green Truck Summit 2011 was a tremendous success with almost 700 people in attendance, a 21% increase from the 2010 Summit attendance. Keynoting the Summit was National Highway Traffic and Safety Administrator, David Strickland, discussing the new fuel standards for medium and heavy duty trucks. Subsequent sessions presented an OEM panel discussing technologies being developed to meet the more stringent fuel economy and emissions standards, as well as a session by major fleet operators already using clean fuels and clean technologies discussing their strategies for achieving these goals.  

Moving from the Green Truck Summit, attendees were able to go to the exhibit floor of the Work Truck Show and actually take a spin in clean and alternative fueled trucks at the Green Truck Summit Ride and Drive and view many of green technologies at booths at the CALSTART Clean Technologies and Fuel Pavilion.
