United States Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) today visited US Hybrid, an American clean tech company based in Torrance, Calif. Her visit was intended to highlight the small business sector and its important role in helping the American, and California's, economic recovery.

US Hybrid, a CALSTART member company, works on hybrid and all-electric drives for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, military vehicles, and aerospace applications. The Senator toured the facility with US Hybrid President and Founder, Abas Goodarzi, PhD before she spoke about some of the current legislation supporting the domestic clean tech industry. The Senator focused on the jobs created or retained thanks to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Senator Boxer's record on clean transportation issues is a solid one, including support for electric vehicles, the Hybrid Truck Users Forum and the National Fuel Cell Bus Program.
