Workplace Charging: Filling a Critical Infrastructure Gap
Tuesday, July 31, 2012
8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Google Headquarters 1600 Amphitheater Parkway Mountain View, California

Join CALSTART and co-host Google for an interactive discussion on Workplace Charging: Filling a Critical Infrastructure Gap

Adoption and use of electric and plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) can be significantly encouraged by ensuring the development of appropriate workplace charging. Little attention has been given to workplace charging, often considered in third place in terms of priority behind home and public charging infrastructure. However recently, many stakeholders have begun emphasizing workplace charging as the most important secondary charge point after residential charging, especially in the early years when public infrastructure can be costly to install or upgrade, and slow to roll out.

Discussion topics include:
•    Why workplace charging is essential
•    Challenges but opportunities for employers, employees, and other stakeholders
•    Necessary policies, funding, industry and government support
•    Successful examples of employer workplace charging
•    Next steps for accelerating workplace charging infrastructure
